Next up for frequent art host Wilson Hotel: ‘Art for Everyone’
Throughout the upcoming Labor Day weekend, the Wilson Hotel in Big Sky will be hosting, “Art for Everyone,” with local artists and members of the Big Sky Artists Collective displaying and selling their work. The event is scheduled Saturday through Monday, Sept. 5-7, from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.
Since opening in early summer last year, the Wilson--Big Sky’s first four-star luxury hotel--has hosted a number of events related to the visual arts, starting with “Art Big Sky” last July. That exhibition featured approximately 40 of the country's preeminent Western artists, showcasing pieces from the 1850's to present day, with artwork provided by Montana Trails Gallery of Bozeman.
Six weeks later, Labor Day weekend found artist Kira Fercho at The Wilson, presenting her French Impressionistic palette at “Paintings and Pastry”, with art lovers viewing Fercho’s work while enjoying sweet bites and a specially curated list of wines. Kira also held evening events at The Wilson in early January this year, enabling participants to listen to jazz musicians Lori Rosolowsky and David Heinzen, while Kira worked at the easel, translating the music to art.
A highlight for the Wilson was hosting the Arts Council’s eighth annual Auction for the Arts in late February, featuring a quick-finish and live and silent auctions. This popular event is the only dedicated fundraiser for the Arts Council of Big Sky.
“We have over 3500 square feet of meeting space that can be used for events,” explains Lindsey Foote, director of sales and marketing for The Wilson, Residence Inn by Marriott Big Sky. “We host all kinds of gatherings—weddings, receptions, dinners, and conferences—but it’s especially fun when activities bring such amazing artwork to the Wilson Hotel. The property gets to be involved with some of the most eventful art events!"
“We’re looking forward to hosting Big Sky artists during the upcoming Labor Day holiday,” she added. “I’m told there’ll be artwork at every price point, starting at $25—Art for Everyone!”
