There’s something decidedly romantic about skijoring – where the Wild West meets modern ski technology and skilled skiers. Single digit temperatures didn’t keep spectators away from Big Sky Skijoring Association’s Second Annual Best in the West Showdown February 9 and 10.

A deputy attended the Great Kindness Week assembly at Big Sky School District.

A man waiting to have court papers served to him requested a callback from a deputy. He believed the papers may be a criminal summons.

Kira Fercho describes her work as a combination of Imposto, Russian Impressionism as well as Western Tonalism.

A calling to create

Billings native Kira Fercho either loves or hates things. There is no in-between. Exercising self-control, she makes one New Year’s resolution per year to do something she hates. One year that was to endlessly listen to Mariah Carey’s music. “And now I love it,” she said.

The live music starts at 6 p.m. and is followed by fireworks.

Finger on the button

Tyler Dingerson is the person responsible for entertaining Big Sky with the fireworks show starting at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. He started out working as a lift operator and now has been a ski patroller for 13 years. Additionally, he has worked with Big Sky Fireworks out of Helena for about 13 years, doing multiple shows in Big Sky.
