Water and sewer ratepayers to see a shift in billing

In a few weeks, Big Sky County Water and Sewer District ratepayers will see a change in their billing. The district will no longer play middleman between owners and renters – the owner will receive the bill. Finalization of the move was secured at the second reading during the June board meeting thanks to a motion by board member Mike Wilczynski that was seconded by Peter Manka. It saw unanimous approval. During the first reading at the May meeting, staff discussed the tedious and time consuming nature of prorating bills and facilitating payment from renters and owners. Board members sought public comment about any unintended consequences to such a move – and heard no negative feedback.
