Gov. Steve Bullock has announced new public health orders, including limits on gathering sizes and restaurant and bar operations, in response to a continued surge of new COVID-19 infections in Montana.
This last week, Gallatin County saw the largest spike in COVID-19 case totals since the pandemic began. Other counties in Montana are seeing similar increases, as noted during Governor Steve Bullock’s Tuesday afternoon press call. In fact, 31 other states have seen spikes.

On Tuesday May 19 Gov. Steve Bullock announced Montana’s entry into Phase Two of the Reopening the Big Sky Plan, effective June 1.
The Governor’s Office released an interim analysis of COVID-19 cases as of April 10. “It sheds light on who this virus impacts, how it spreads and patient outcomes,” Gov. Steve Bullock said during a press call. The data will be used to inform decisions going forward.
