COVID-19 has surfaced as an early obstacle of the 2021 Lady Bighorns Basketball season. Several critical practices were cancelled and the first game will need to be rescheduled due to a positive test result on the team, head coach Taylor Cummings explained.

The Lone Peak High School Varsity Volleyball team saw real challenges this year. The girls also rose to the occasion. From a quick victory against Harrison/Willow Creek in the 12C Tournament, to an incredible five game match against Gardiner, which they lost, to vanquishing Shields Valley for 3rd place in the conference.
Lone Peak Lady Bighorns earned a 3rd place trophy in the 12C District Conference just after coming out of quarantine.
It should have been a night showcasing teamwork and talent – the kind of competition that only surfaces when teams are well matched. The Lone Peak High School Lay Big Horns and Manhattan Christian Lady Eagles both had undefeated records.
The Lady Big Horns have rarely been taken to four games in a match this season. With momentum clearly on the Lady Big Horns side for the first two games, the Twin Bridges Lady Falcons rallied for the third.
Though the Manhattan Christian Eagles currently outrank the Lone Peak High School Lady Big Horns due to the nature of the scoring system, the Lady Big Horns remain undefeated.
That is not their focus, though, Head Coach Missy Botha said.
Friday night’s match against White Sulphur Springs was a battle. The Lady Big Horns fell to the Hornets in the first game, only to narrowly win the second, dominate the third and seal the victory with the fourth.
Three and done--Lone Peak Lady Big Horns Varsity Volleyball dominated against the Absorakee Lady Huskies during the season opener on August 29. The Lady Big Horns showed fantastic balance and skill in offensive and defensive plays.
Valentines Day did not show either the Big Horns or Lady Big Horns any love on the court against West Yellowstone. They had an off night as the Wolverines found their flow.
