Bridge Deck project expected to finish in October

US 191 bridge to switch sides tomorrow

The Big Sky Bridge Deck project continues.

On the bridge by Little Coyote Road, crews are finishing the rebar layer of the deck. Concrete pouring is anticipated towards the end of the next week and once poured, the deck will cure for one week.

On the US 191 bridge, the northbound side of the bridge has completed and work is now focused on the southbound side. Drivers will switch to the northbound side tomorrow. Crews will be hydromilling, using high-pressure water to break up the surface of the deck, which allows for repairs to be made while keeping the underlying layers intact.

The project is on track to finish in October.

Drivers are reminded to drive slow through construction areas and loads wider than 11 feet must find an alternate route.
