Sheriff’s Office awaiting autopsy results to determine cause of death

The May 12 Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office response to a cardiac/respiratory arrest call has led to an ongoing investigation of a death off of Curley Bear Road, according to a Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office dispatch report and Gallatin County Sheriff Brian Gootkin. Once on the scene, deputies discovered a victim with a head injury.

No details have been provided about the deceased.

The sheriff’s office did track down a person who may have information about the death, according to a Gallatin County Justice Court Probable Cause Affidavit and Order. He allegedly resisted arrest and was cited with misdemeanor obstruction, booked into the Gallatin County Detention Center and is no longer in custody as of May 15.  According to clerks with the Gallatin County Justice Courts and the Gallatin County District Court, no additional charges have been made against him.
