Big Sky Community Housing Trust on confronting the workforce housing crisis

When Laura Seyfang, executive director of Big Sky Community Housing Trust (BSCHT) stood before the speakers gathered for the Chamber of Commerce Building Forum there were five and a half rental units available in Big Sky and “112 people on our waitlist desperately looking for places to rent.” She noted that median real estate prices in the area

Making life sweet

By all indications, Christine Lugo-Yergensen is tireless in her pursuits. She has a sort of vibrancy – in fact she exudes joy. With three kids under seven, a new catering business and volunteer pursuits that keep her hopping – including the Friendsgiving at the Wilson Hotel – her reservoir of energy likely comes in handy.

Investigation underway

Six hundred fifty acres of United States Forest Service and Fish, Wildlife and Parks land were ablaze this past week near Big Sky. The tally of scorched acres climbed significantly after an aircraft was able to gps the fire. No private land or structures were damaged.

Making history

The Lone Peak High School Varsity Volleyball team saw real challenges this year. The girls also rose to the occasion. From a quick victory against Harrison/Willow Creek in the 12C Tournament, to an incredible five game match against Gardiner, which they lost, to vanquishing Shields Valley for 3rd place in the conference.
