Wins against Home School, Anderson and Monforton during the Bozeman Rural Schools Championship on Feb. 25 were the icing on an already delicious cake for the undefeated Ophir Middle School girls 7thand 8thgrade Miner basketball team. The Miners finished out their perfect season as champions of their district.

Meet your champions

The undefeated 7/8th grade Ophir Lady Miners continued their winning streak on Jan. 26 at the Monforton Rural League Tournament, beating Monforton in the morning 37-30. Led by Jessie Bough’s 17 points, the Lady Miners recovered from an early eight-point deficit to outscore Monforton 20-10 in the second half.

Crushing it

The middle school girls basketball season is now underway, and student interest in the sport is high. This year two teams represent the Ophir Lady Miners, with 20 girls on the 5/6th grade team and 15 on the 7/8th grade team.

A winning philosophy

The Ophir Miners fifth and sixth grade boys basketball team took home the championship title on December 1 – beating out eight other schools in the rural league in a two-day tournament held at Petra Academy in Bozeman.
