Big Sky skier Mackenzie Winters posted strong times in the U16 ladies slalom and giant slalom at Bridger Bowl.

Big Sky skiers compete at Bridger and Great Divide

Big Sky Ski Education Foundation Program Director Jeremy Ueland started last weekend—Feb. 23-25—at Bridger Bowl, where U16 Big Sky racers competed in qualifying races. 

Representing Big Sky were Maci St. Cyr, Mackenzie Winters, Franci St. Cyr, Madison Winters, Madison Rager, Sarah Maynard, Gracie Carisch, Hillary Davis, Mazie Schreiner, Ryan Beatty, Sam Johnson, Will Hodgson and Caleb Unger.

Ueland then showed up in Big Sky for the Mad Wolf Winter Relay fundraiser on Saturday, before heading to the Great Divide Ski Area near Helena for a U14 qualifier. 

At Great Divide, the kids in the starting gate for Big Sky were Skylar Manka, Lili Brown, Margaret Davis, Drew Ditullio, Brooke Brown, Cameron McEldowney, Chloe Unger, Carson Klug, Myla Hoover, Dylan Manka, Graycen Schreiner, Wren Hassman, Poppy Towle, Cate Hardan, Luke Kirchmayr, Kjetil Hassman, Cameron Ueland, Cameron Pecunies, Finn Klug, Ian Pecunies, Connor Torsleff, Anthony Ditullio, Ace Beattie, Dainius Kiskis, Ryan Wenger, Miles Romney, Walter Brown, Dominic Ditullio, Cash Beattie, Russell Johnson, Dane Ueland, Cullen Sheil and Cooper Bourret. 

“Three events in three days,” said Ueland, who will continue following his racers as they advance. BSSEF skiers hope to make it to the Western Region Junior Championships at Schweitzer Mountain in Idaho, the Western Region U16 Championships at Alyeska Resort in Alaska and the U14-U16 TriDivisionals at Snowbasin, Utah.
