Ruth Blodgett (left) and Kodi Boersma held down the back line during District 11 C tournament play Oct. 24-26 at Manhattan Christian High School. Both players delivered key return shots as the Big Horns advanced to face the top talent on display in Churchill.

Cheers to a great season

“That was a monster save,” said Missy Botha, head volleyball for the LPHS Big Horns. Her team had just defeated White Sulphur Springs and she was praising the play of Ruth Blodgett. Against the Hornets, Blodgett made a lunging one-handed tap back into play, protecting her team’s lead.

“Our girls have played a lot of volleyball over the last two days so they were ready for anything,” added Botha, whose team also beat West Yellowstone on its way to a rematch with rival Manhattan Christian. Unfortunately, the Eagles advanced past LPHS on Oct. 26 alongside Gardiner to play in the Western Class C Divisional tourney in Churchill Nov. 1-3.
