Big Sky girls sweep Super G
The most impressive and consistent performance by a Big Sky racer was Brooke Brown who started the first race on Saturday in position 65 and stormed down a rutted and icy course to finish 21st overall and second in the U14 group.

The ladies from the Big Sky Ski Team demonstrated their strength and winning ways in an impressive weekend of ski racing at the Lone Peak Speed Series Giant Slalom held February 9-10 at Big Sky resort on the Hangman course.
The race was a speed event for U14 and up and included teams from the Northern Division. Three races were held, two on Saturday, Feb. 9 and one race on Sunday, Feb. 10. In the opening race on Saturday the ladies swept the podium and placed six racers in the top 15.
In the individual age brackets Mazie Schreiner was the fastest U19 in the first race on Saturday while Ryan Beatty was the fastest U16 and bested Sam Johnson who was the fastest U19. On Sunday Maci St. Cyr was the fastest U19.

In the second race on Saturday Brown started deep in the pack and finished 15th overall and was again the second fastest U14. On Sunday Brown started in 52nd place and finished 18th overall and was second for the third time in the U14 category. 
Next weekend the team travels to Missoula and then to Bridger Bowl on the first weekend in March. 

For the ladies the individual finishers in the top 15 were:

In the afternoon race on Saturday the ladies did even better and placed seven racers in the top 15 as follows:

10th Hillary Davis (57.11)

11th Franci St. Cyr (57.35)

13th Gracie Carisch (57.45)

The boys also made a strong showing in their races. In the Saturday morning race Big Sky claimed the top two podium spots and placed four racers in the top 15 places.

13th Kjetil Hassman (52.71)

In the afternoon race the boys slowed down a bit with two finishers in the top 15, including:

In the third and final race of the weekend on Sunday morning, Feb. 10, 2019 the ladies were strong again with seven finishers in the top 15.
