Ophir alumnae Reece Bell wins big in France

Big Sky Ski Education Foundation alumnae and Ophir School graduate Reece Bell, 16, won two national titles at the Delancey Junior British Ski Championships, in Tignes, France, March 31 and April 1. On the 31st, Bell picked up the U18 slalom championship and on the  1st she snagged the U18 giant slalom (GS) win. She was more than a second faster than the other U18s in the GS.

     Bell left Big Sky two years ago to train with Ski and Snowboard Club Vail. Last year, she won the U.S. U16 national slalom championship in Sugarloaf, Maine.

     The half-American, half-Brit chose to race for the British Ski Team at the beginning of the 2017-18 ski season. She is one of the youngest members on the national team and trains with the British Ski Academy when racing in Europe.
