Free COVID-19 testing

Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m at Big Sky Medical Center

Testing is available for free to all asymptomatic individuals in the Big Sky community on July 1.

The testing will come for a swab in the nose, but is not the nass-pharyngeal (NP) method that people find uncomfortable, Big Sky Resort Area District Executive Director Daniel Bierschwale explained.

“Individuals who would like to be tested should present to Big Sky Medical Center on Wednesday between the posted testing hours. Minors must have their parent/guardian with them to be tested. Each person will need to fill out the appropriate forms and provide contact information, and will then be directed to drive up to the ambulance bay for nasal swabbing, which will be completed by Big Sky Medical Center care team members,” a press release said.

People will be provided with the following information after the swab:

  • Expectations pertaining to masking and social distancing

  • The length of time they can expect to wait to receive their results

  • What to do if their result is positive

  • What to do if their result is negative

  • Contact information for any questions

Residents should continue to social distance and wear face coverings in public areas. Symptomatic individuals need to contact their primary care providers or head to the Viral Triage Clinic at Big Sky Medical Center.
