Lone Peak High School Student Awarded Prestigious National Honor Society Scholarship

The National Honor Society (NHS) announced that Michael Romney, a high school senior at Lone Peak High School and member of NHS, has been selected as an NHS Scholarship semifinalist. Michael Romney was chosen from nearly 10,000 applicants and will receive a $3,200 scholarship toward higher education.

The Lone Peak High School basketball season started off when a number of question marks – mostly Covid-related. What was never a question in the coaches’ minds, though, was that their teams would work together, work hard and learn.

A testament to good people

Lone Peak High School senior Michael Romney just became the school’s first National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist, with a total of 16,000 in the nation. He is in the running for one of the 7,600 National Merit Scholarships that are worth more than $31 million. He finds out in February if he makes the finals.
