A familiar face, a new role

Welcome Austin

You may notice a familiar face back in town, but in a whole new role. The Lone Peak Lookout is pleased to welcome Austin Samuels back to our team for the summer. Samuels is pursuing a career in journalism and we are honored to give him some first-hand experience in his home town.

“I love having the ability to be a storyteller. Especially in a place like Big Sky, where people may not be able to hear those stories anywhere else,” said Samuels.

Samuels first interned with the Lone Peak Lookout last summer through the Big Sky Youth Corps program. He worked on some behind the scenes projects for our team in the summer of 2020. This summer he will be out in the community, reporting and delivering the papers. Please welcome him and reach out to share your stories. He is especially passionate about sports writing, so watch for his byline on local sports stories.

Austin was born in Nashville, Tenn., but has lived in Big Sky for the past 14 years. He is a graduate from Lone Peak High School from the class of 2020. In his free time, Austin enjoys doing anything that will get him outside under the big sky.

His three favorite things are watching sports, playing golf, and shredding the gnar.
